I am just like you! A student of the game of golf with a constant focus on improvement. Whether I am working my golf swing, reading a golf book, or talking about the swing, I dedicate my time to learning and refining golf swing information—based on physics and geometry—and presenting it in a way all golfers and handicaps can understand. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2016 with a degree in Marketing and a PGA Membership. I am proud to be a part of an association with an energized vision to grow the game of golf and make the game more enjoyable to all golfers.
My philosophy is wholly based on the student having a fun, meaningful experience in a frustrating and complicated game where potential lifelong golfers either quit because it is too difficult or that they experience some form of swing-related pain or discomfort. I mitigate these problems by focusing entirely on the student’s needs and goals while teaching a golf swing method that ultimately takes stress off of the common pain areas of the swing.
Golfing aside, in my free time I enjoy playing the guitar—either in concert or just for fun. Lynyrd Skynyrd is my favorite band (southern rock being my favorite genre). I also enjoy fishing and being at the beach. You can pretty much find me active and somewhere outside.
What Is SagutoGolf?
I am Tom Saguto, PGA Member and founder of SagutoGolf. Thank you for visiting my instructional homepage where you can find how to get on the fast track to improving your golfing abilities. Whether you are a seasoned golfing veteran on your annual golf trip to Myrtle Beach looking for a quick swing tune-up after an on-course emergency, or a local just looking to get the most out of your golfing experience, I am here to help you achieve your golfing goals.
My mission as your swing doctor is simple, to help you maximize your enjoyment in game of golf. Because, let’s face it, golf is a hard game. It is mind-bogglingly hard. Who would have thought that hitting a defenseless, stationary ball with a stick would wind up being one of the most frustrating and rewarding games on the planet. There are hundreds of different swinging styles and thousands of articles you can read on how to improve.
You can even take lessons off of YouTube from instructors who are so technical about this game a NASA rocket scientist would have an emotional breakdown! But, no need to worry or feel overwhelmed, I have done the hard work for you. I have been in your shoes. Through hitting tens of thousands of range balls, and burying my head in sand out of frustration—seeing my ball go left, right, up, down, sideways--the struggle to find a sound, repeatable swing has led to me find a simplistic and proven method to swing the golf club efficiently and in a body-friendly manner.
Why Do I Teach?
I teach because I enjoy helping others achieve their goals. There is nothing more satisfying to me than seeing a student make pure contact for the first time or watching them break a scoring barrier. No matter what your goal is, I am going to be committed to your improvement and be with you every step of the way.
I am not here to spew forth golfing lingo from textbooks or sound like I know how to convert rocket science into golfing mechanisms. Rather, I am here to help you and translate the confusing realm of golf rocket science into something simple to understand and execute. No instructor ego syndrome to worry about, simply a student and instructor relationship with your improvement being my #1 priority.
